We were thrilled recently to be shortlisted and commended in the national Schools Business Awards for our recruitment campaign for Bridge Learning Campus in Bristol.

You can read more here.

Our innovative Facebook approach in 3 separate campaigns – for middle leaders, primary teachers and an HR member of staff – produced more than 200 high quality candidates and several strong appointments have been made.

We took traditional methods and turned them on their head – finding strong candidates who may not have been currently looking for a job but whose interest was sparked by our campaign.

Led by Ollie, Becky and myself, we worked closely with BLC to identify exactly what they needed.

Schools recruitment is in crisis … read here … but our approach has paid dividends for one school and we are looking to do the same for oither schools and businesses.

How we did it here.

Here’s what was said:

Bridge Learning Campus, Bristol
As part of a highly successful recruitment drive, Bridge Learning Campus offered a financial ‘golden hello’ as well as opportunities to become a real leader in the school community. They didn’t set about recruiting just a maths teacher or a music teacher, but instead they just sought the very best teachers. A Facebook campaign produced around 110 experienced teachers signed up and expressing interest in just 9 days. An open evening was held, attended by a high calibre range of applicants with more events planned for the future.

Sue Elliott, head of HR at BLC, said: “We approached Local Voice and we came up with a new approach –  a precisely targeted Facebook campaign aimed at finding strong, inspiring teachers. Instead of the candidates coming to us, we took the job to the candidates.

“Many of them did not even know they were looking for a job until it landed in their Facebook feed.

“The results were staggering. In two campaigns, each over just 2 weeks, we attracted more than 200 candidates. And they were not just the average candidate. They came from many different backgrounds, not just traditional classroom teaching. And we have made several key appointments while having a database of excellence which we can return to in the future.

“We are thrilled by this success story.”
